On May 15, members of Keene Elm City Rotary club brought out their gardening tools and green thumbs for our annual pocket park cleanup and Spring planting.
More than 20 years ago, several members of our club created a “pocket park” and garden, located at the intersection of the Cheshire Trail bike path and Pearl St. in Keene, NH.
Through the years, we have been blessed to have many dedicated club members who enthusiastically roll up their sleeves each time we put out the call that it’s time for another park spruce up. Along with the ongoing trimming and weeding, this year’s spring clean-up crew of 14 added two hydrangeas, a few more perennials, dozens of annuals, two new whiskey barrels filled with plantings and topped it all off with a layer of mulch.
“We love caring for this beautiful park and hope it brings joy and peace to everyone who passes by or sits to chat with a friend” said Mary Delisle, chair of the Keene Elm City Rotary Pocket Park committee.
