Announcements: 
  • Phil Wyzik noted two people had put their names in to be entered in the raffle for the October German trip.  Kristin Leach is going to Germany!
  • Charlene reminded us of the Spring potluck at her home 114 Jordan Road on Sunday.  Bring a chair, beverage and food to share.
  • Damien noted KSC is hosting an event today from 2:00-4:00pm “Safe and Sound Housing: Pathways to Stable Housing at Norma Walker Hall'
  • Marianne – needs volunteers for sneaker delivery on Tuesday, April 30 between 9:00 – 9:45.
  • Sue Simonds needed someone to pick up breakfast next week as she’s going to Mexico. Damian offered.
  • Mike Chelstowski thanked everyone for helping with Library book sale last weekend
Paul Harris Fellow: Samantha was presented with a Paul Harris award by Ted McGreer.  It was an emotional presentation for Sam;Ted did a phenomenal job keeping us in the dark until the end.  Sam's daughter, Caroline, flew in from San Diego, and son, Spencer drove up from CT. Sam has been a pillar of the community for over 30 years with a career ranging from healthcare to banking.  She has volunteered in countless roles for a wide range of non-profits in the area. She is well known for her superior fund-raising and volunteer coordinating skills as it is very difficult to say no to Samantha! Sam has incredible energy, dedication, organizational skills and an unwavering kindness and willingness to lend a hand when someone is in need.  Sam is much loved by friends and family and this award was much deserved and long overdue.
 
Foundation:  Kerry led us today.  There were many words of congratulations for Samantha and Alan. Louise Zerba would like help finding two host families. Ann Henderson shared that Dan is making a trip out to CA – his first since his accident. Bob Schauman spoke about his experience of hosting exchange students. Judith is off to Washington for her 60th high school reunion. Damian echoed how life-changing hosting students is. Kristin Leach gave a shout out to Kristen Goodenough for designing new flyer for the Kids Demar. Dick’s family put the dock in last weekend at his lake house. Laura Andrews updated our Paul Harris banner with a snazzy yellow color!  Alan thanked everyone who attended the Boy Scouts award event and said anyone who didn’t show up is dead to him lol.  Marion is celebrating six years of marriage.
 
Raffle:  $156.00–no winner.
 
Program:  David Ports & Artie Lang, LPA Associates, a non-profit consulting firm.  They were founded 20 years ago in Seattle and recently opened an office in Keene. Their mission is to guide non-profits on a variety of topics: interim leadership and transition consulting, governance consulting and strategic planning, organizational assessments as well as fund-raising. They are passionate about the importance of non-profits in a community. There are 1.3 million non-profit organizations in the US which generate $2 trillion in spending. Over 7,000 in NH and 900 in Cheshire County alone.
