Announcements
 
Alan S
1) 2021 Clarence DeMar race online registration is live as of January 1st. 
2) Clarence DeMar's committee will be raising a little bit of extra money by selling DeMar commemorative T-shirts. For a limited time offer, these T-shirts in 27 different colors will be available to buy. All registered runners will get a link to buy the t-shirt. There will be a single print about 3 weeks from now and then the t-shirts will be shipped right after. The link to buy these T-shirts will be shared on our social media platforms as well. The cost is $20/T-shirt.
 
Ann Heffernon
Facemasks are available. If anyone knows any agencies that could use masks, please reach out to Ann. the masks are KN95 (the paper version of N95 masks). The community kitchen is all set at the moment with the masks.

Cher and Yves prepared the following casual and lighthearted questions and for each answer, Cher donated a dollar for the foundation.

  10. Favorite Rotarian community service since you have been a Rotarian?
  11. Funniest Rotarian comment or story during the foundation?
  12. All-time greatest breakfast at our 7:15 AM meeting?
  13. Any particular presenters on Zoom which touched you or was meaningful to you?
  14. Anything you've considered positive about our ZOOM meeting that surprised you?
 
With this fun and interactive presentation, Cher donated $196 with half of it going to scholarship!
 
 
 
Foundations:
Alan S
  • After 3 months delay because of COVID-19, Claire (daughter) started driver's Ed.
  • Raise a glass to our friend Allen M. officially retiring from Edward Jones by the end of 2020. 
Allen M
  • Gave $50 for foundation (scholarship) for his official retirement from Edward Jones
  • One of his golf friends says to him every day “have the best day of your life ever” and he says this to me every day.
Mike C 
  • He was tense about how blank his mind was every time a question was asked during the presentation.
Susan N
  • The new citizen of the year (replacing Mike “the chosen one”) will be announced on January 14th
Sally B
  • She just got her Medicare card after 42 years working at the Cheshire Medical Hospital. She will be working occasionally. The question is who is going to take care of us after our colonoscopy?!
Ann R
  • Paul said that there is nothing better in the whole world than waking up after a procedure and seeing Sally’s smiling face! 
Marion
  • Very thankful for the community of our rotary club and what we have managed to accomplish this year which is very important to the community to her personally.
Mary D
  • Shout-out and a thank-you on behalf of all non-profit organizations in our community and so many people from the club who support these organizations financially or just by volunteering.
Dr. Bob E 
  • Bob: Happy New Year to everyone
  • Nice unique Christmas day in the garage of her daughter Julie and the kids have decorated the garage with the space-heater, nice music, food, and wine.
  • He can’t wait for the vaccination
John R
  • “Positive side-effects of the Covi-19” is that our meetings went online with no requirements for attendance and this had allowed him to remain with the club as after his leave of absence he was still unable to attend the meeting in person. He appreciates the opportunity to be with the club.
