KECR partners with coalition to reduce regional childhood hunger during school breaks.
Keene Elm City Rotary partners with MUCH (Monadnock Understands Childhood Hunger) and fellow MUCH partner Keene Community Kitchen to provide, pack and deliver food boxes for families in need during the school vacation week.  For families who rely on school lunches,  school vacations can bring added stress and financial strain for food provision.  The initiative began last year and has grown over 300% in just a year's time.  This year 6 area schools, including Hinsdale and Winchester, received about 100 boxes for each of the 4 school vacations. Each box contains 18 servings for a family of 4, healthy snacks local eggs and local produce.  Team DeMar Team Childhood Hunger is the fundraising arm of this program, providing 100% of the funding each year.  With the continued growth and success of Team Childhood Hunger we can continue to expand the program to more families and more schools.  Ask us how you can get involved with Team Childhood Hunger!
